An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
